First America’s sweetheart, now Florida’s hero. Kristen Bell was filming in Orlando, Florida for the movie Like Father when she got stranded — like so many others — as Hurricane Irma approached. Bell may have been unable to evacuate in time, but she was able to help her friends Josh Gad and Jennifer Carpenter. Gad, a Florida native, tweeted that Bell saved his “entire family,” including his parents, brothers, sister-in-law and niece and nephews from Irma. “You are an angel,” Gad said in a tweet to his Frozen co-star. “I adore you.” Bell is waiting out the storm at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort. In addition to getting Gad’s family out of harm’s way, he says she secured them a room a her hotel. “They don’t make them like this girl,” Gad wrote on Instagram. “Thank you Kristin. You are truly an angel sent from above. And thank you @ewablueeyes for bother her [sic] when I asked you not.”
Another friend of Bell’s shared that when she learned of her amazing work to save Gad’s family, she turned to her for help for her own family. Carpenter, a star on the TV show Dexter, says Bell saved her aunt and 82-year-old grandmother. She shared on Twitter that Bell stepped in when she learned that her grandmother and aunt were planning on waiting out the storm in their closet with nothing more than bike helmets for protection. Bell managed to hook them up with a place to stay at her hotel too.
Kristen Bell is a national treasure and I will fight anyone that says otherwise!
