A California woman has an unexpected new pet after finding a frog in a packaged salad she purchased from Target. Becky Garfinkel of Corona said she bought the Taylor Farms baby spring salad mix recently and she was about halfway through eating the meal when she noticed the lettuce moving on its own. “As I’m pulling to go stab another bite, I see a frog sitting in my salad plate after I’ve eaten almost the entire salad. Completely freaked out – screamed. I threw up afterward because I was traumatized. I’m a vegetarian and I couldn’t believe there was a frog in there,” Garfinkel said. Garfinkel said she rinsed the salad dressing off the frog and noticed the amphibian appeared to be in poor health. So her husband gave the tiny frog chest compressions with his finger. Garfinkel said Target told her an investigation with Taylor Farms is ongoing. She said the store offered her a $5 gift card, which doesn’t even cover the cost of the salad. The frog, which the couple dubbed Lucky, is recovering from the trauma at its new home – in a reptile terrarium in Garfinkel’s office. (ABC7)
