There’s a new boozy ice cream in town, and this one might actually get you buzzed. Arctic Buzz, a company based in Baltimore, has a line of six vodka-infused ice cream flavors, including Key Lime Pie, Raspberry, Vanilla, Cookies and Cream, Chocolate, and Coconut. The alcohol content varies by flavor, between 8.6 and 8.9 percent. For now, the ice cream is only available at liquor stores in Maryland. (Refinery29)
This reminds me of the time my roommates in college drank my super special vodka (that wasn't sold in local liquor stores) while I was away for the weekend. They hatched a brilliant plan to replace the bottle before I even knew it was taken. Unfortunately, one of them had poor eyesight and purchased a bottle of "Vodka Lite" which markets itself as being half the calories, but really it's just half the alcohol content, so you'll need to drink more to get drunk. They then poured this vodka water into the bottle that they drank.
I probably wouldn't have noticed that my roommates were trying to cheat me out of 20% alcohol content, but for the fact that I always put my liquor bottles in the freezer. So needless to say, I was pretty upset when Thursday night rolled around and I found a bottle of vodka slush in my freezer. I immediately confronted my roommates, who finally confessed to the crime after I told them it was scientifically impossible for vodka to freeze. Anyway, I remember thinking at the time that I should create a vodka slushy line, but then I started drinking and completely forgot about the idea until today when I saw this vodka ice cream. I missed out on a real gold mine.
